Helen Jun was informed on 4/2/10 that she will be performing the Gordeli Concerto at the CMEA state solo and ensemble festival. The judge said she had a beautiful clear tone, nice vibrato, and a strong technique. Her rating was "superior." BRAVO HELEN!
Clara Park performed at the CMEA Festival at the Beach School in Piedmont, Wednesday, March 10th, 2010. She won a "SUPERIOR" award! She played Suite Modale by Ernest Bloch. BRAVO CLARA!
Evan Yao, 15, playing mvt 1 of the Mozart D Major Concerto with the CYS Associates Orchestra conducted by Leo Eylar on 2/28/10.
Sarah Cargillhas been chosen to perform at the very prestigious Noontime Concert Series at UC Berkeley on 2/24/10. She will play the entire Ibert Flute Concerto with Miles Graber, pianist, and Syrinx by Debussy. BRAVO SARAH!
Kristen Fang won the Junior Bach competition playing the J.S. Bach Suite in B Minor with the Heghine Boloyan string ensemble. They will perform at the First Unitarian Church in Kensington on March 27th. Don't miss it! BRAVO KRISTEN!

This year Jennifer Chen made both the California Band Directors Association (CBDA) All-State Honor Band and the Santa Clara County Honor Band. Wait, there's more....
Jennifer was also JUST recently accepted into the All State Honor Orchestra for California Music Educators Association (CMEA)/California Orchestra Directors Association (CODA) on both piccolo and flute.
Jennifer also got a Command Performance playing the Doppler Hungarian Fantaisie at the CMEA Solo/Ensemble Festival on 3/27/10! The judge said that her tone was beautiful and that she played the passages cleanly! BRAVO JENNIFER!
Rachel Adams won the Berkeley Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition. She will be performing segments from the Telemann Suite in A Minor from memory. Wait a minute....there's more...Rachel just won the first flute chair of BYO! BRAVO RACHEL!
Evan Yao won the CYS Associates Orchestra Concerto Competition with the Mozart Concerto in DM. He will be performing the first movement plus cadenza from memory at the Foothill College Theater on Sunday February 28th at 2 p.m. Don't miss it! BRAVO EVAN!
